Using the Miswak (also called Sewak) was a common ritual of the beloved Prophet Muhammad (صَلَّى ٱللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ‎), as narrated by a number of ahadith. In fact, it was highly recommended by the Prophet (صَلَّى ٱللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ‎) to his people as a daily tool perfect for regular teeth-cleaning and maintaining good hygiene.

As narrated by Abu Huraira, the Prophet (صَلَّى ٱللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ‎) said: “But for my fear that it would be hard for my followers, I would have ordered them to clean their teeth with Sewak on every performance of ablution” (Sunan an-Nasai)

Hence, in can be seen, especially in this Hadith, that the cleanliness and use of the Miswak was greatly encouraged by our Prophet (صَلَّى ٱللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ‎).

The miswak’s medium thickness and subtle taste also makes it easy and comfortable to use. Just peel the end and start chewing on it and it transforms into nature’s all-in-one toothbrush — no toothpaste required!
